Upper Secondary School
THE CURRICULUM
Our upper secondary school program ensures that students will not only be admitted to universities and colleges, but also that they will have the skills and confidence to thrive once they get there. The path to this destination varies for everyone; therefore, we offer myriad opportunities to delve deeply into subjects supported by a broad-based foundation in the various fields. Whether one is interested in pursuing Pure or Social Sciences, or Engineering or liberal arts, we have a combination of subjects catered to that students' needs . Surrounded by a caring community of teachers and peers, students feel safe-socially, emotionally, and physically-and consequently, take the measured risks necessary to support high academic achievement, develop passion, and build character. The upper school curriculum is designed to be an engaging experience that intentionally integrates many of the same demands and opportunities that students will find in college. Upper school students take core academic requirements, but also have several opportunities to direct their own education through courses of their choosing. After the first year of college, many of our alumni report that the workload at Chalo prepared them well, allowing them to excel academically, and inspiring them to take advantage of the co-curricular opportunities that abound in college.
From Grade 10 to Grade 12, the aim of our curriculum is to prepare our students for pre-university and university education. We introduce them to an even wider range of subjects which serve the purpose of creating a foundation for any student hoping to get into any university in the world. At this level, we offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which is provided by Cambridge University through Cambridge International Examinations(CIE). This program allows students to go to any university in the world and gives them a competitive advantage when it comes to getting accepted to many foreign universities.
